If your experience a slow startup I would identify the programs that have auto-start in the start folder, msconfig and OS services.

Even if you increase the memory which helps a little upon boot up, more icons does slow up the boot up process!! I know I did it (from 1 to 2 gigs notebook ram, pc2 5300 on the latter). System 2 boots Windows95 in 16 seconds. What the HELL is going on? Is it rare for Win95 to boot so quickly? Is something slowing down my Pentium system?
